MLK Jr. Day - Monday, Jan 19

Intro to Printmaking
Ages: 5-7
Time: 9:00a - 4:00p
Instructor: Aria Carpenter (any/all)
Class Fee: $182.95

In this full-day program, students will be introduced to water-based paints and playful forms of printmaking while learning how artists use images and symbols to share their ideas with the world. Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s message of kindness and community, kids will explore colors, shapes, and patterns to create prints that celebrate hope, friendship, and working together.

Printmaking is an artistic process of creating and transferring an image from one surface to another, usually paper, to make multiple copies. It uses simple materials like rubber, sponges, foraged materials (leaves, flowers, etc.) or cardboard to create a ""stamp"" that is then covered in paint and pressed onto paper. This can be a fun, messy, and creative activity that helps children learn about patterns, color, and textures.
