Curious about wheelthrowing? In this one-day workshop, you can create unique clay objects with step-by-step instruction and demonstrations of wheelthrowing and/or handbuilding techniques. You will have the chance to decorate your work with underglaze, and can choose one glaze for each of your pieces. No previous ceramic knowledge is required!

All artworks will be available for pick up 6-8 weeks after class.

Create your own series of prints as we explore monotype, a technique that never produces two of the same print. The teacher will provide step-by-step instructions and demos for carved rubber stamp making and using them to make unique artwork. All levels of experience are welcome!

Have you ever wanted to make a silver ring? Dive into the art of jewelry making with our hand-on class focused on making a ring band in sterling silver. You’ll learn how to stamp, texture, form and solder your very own one-of-a-kind ring. We'll practice first in brass or copper, and then move on to silver. This class is open to all levels - including beginners or students who would like to try working in silver.

Information

The BAC believes the arts should be accessible to all! Tuition assistance (or financial aid) for full season classes (8-10 wks) and intensives (5 wks) is available for all individuals and families throughout the year. Click here to be redirected to our financial aid form.

Please do not register for a class you wish to apply financial assistance for, the BAC will assist you with your registration process if your application has been accepted.

Tuition assistance requests will not be fulfilled until mid-September or later.
Tuition Assistance requests can be fullfilled up to 2 weeks after the start date of the session if space permits. Until then, we ask for your patience while we work to place students in their requested classes. Scholarships for Ceramics & Jewelry are granted per individual once per fiscal year (September – August). Financial Aid does not apply to private lessons or workshops.

We are, additionally, proud to partner with the Mass Cultural Council's Card to Culture program – in collaboration with the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program, and the Massachusetts Health Connector to allow participants to identify the amount they can contribute towards class tuition.
