Flora Richardson (she, her, hers) is a 24 year-old contemporary artist based out of western Massachusetts who mainly works on stretched canvas with her medium of choice being acrylics and oil pastels. Richardson’s subject matter ranges from self-portraits, figures, animals, entomology, and botanicas, inspired by her mother’s line of work being botany & horticulture. Topics she likes to explore are relationship to self, culture, feminism, politics, environmentalism, and nostalgia. Currently, Richardson is a studio assistant to an established artist located in western Massachusetts and has been learning technical skills while also gaining insight on the art world and the inner workings of gallery spaces. While she has taken private art classes and drawing courses at University, she has a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. Despite that her passion has always been the arts ever since she was a little girl and dreamed of someday displaying paintings in a gallery space. For now, creating a social media presence posting her art has been a creative outlet and a way to reach people globally.
