Navi Tshibambe is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the intersections of materiality, cultural heritage, and storytelling. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, Tshibambe blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary approaches. Deeply influenced by Congolese artistic traditions and religious practices, Tshibambe bases her work off of research and a desire to bridge historical narratives with modern discourses. As a recipient of the Dean’s Research Grant, she is developing a project based on traditional Congolese art forms, using sculpture and mixed media to recontextualize cultural symbols and rituals. Tshibambe’s experience extends beyond the studio, with a strong foundation in museum collections management, artifact preservation, and exhibition preparation from her internship at the Ipswich Museum. Tshibambe seeks to create work that invites dialogue about identity, memory, and cultural legacies.
