Classes meet once a week for 5–9 weeks, beginning in late June or July. Some classes are for teens ages 13–17, while select classes are open to ages 16 and up.

In this introductory class, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of both wheelthrowing and handbuilding. The teacher will provide you with step-by-step instructions and demonstrations to help you create unique clay objects. Demonstrations include cups, vases, plates, lids, throwing off the hump, and more. All levels will learn about decorating techniques. Learn the basics of linocut printmaking in this intensive! This class will focus on carving techniques, how to hand-print relief prints, and turning images and compositions into beautiful relief prints. Students will focus on making several single-block prints in this class.

Learn how to create colorful and complex compositions for linocut prints with multi-layer block printing techniques. This class will focus on color theory and reductive printmaking (using one block to make many layers for a print.) Familiarity with relief printmaking techniques is recommended for this course however, beginners are welcome!

This is a beginning level painting and drawing class to learn foundational skills. In this course students will gain a basic understanding of drawing with charcoal, graphite and pastels. Students will explore color theory in mediums of paint, such as watercolor, acrylic and oil painting.

Whether you’re a beginner or already have some photography experience, this experimental image-making course is perfect for anyone looking to explore photographic techniques that do not require a traditional darkroom setup. Students will experiment with lumen prints using sunlight and found materials, cyanotype variations, handmade photograms, DIY pinhole cameras, and photographs made from plants, while also altering printed photographs through collage, stitching, drawing, and painting. By the end of the class, students will leave with a portfolio of one-of-a-kind experimental images and the skills to continue exploring alternative photographic processes on their own.

Make beautiful jewelry with instruction from a working artist who will guide you to shape, polish, solder, pierce, etch and embellish jewelry in copper and brass. In this class, we will jump into watercolor and all of its possibilities. We will learn techniques in watercolor that can be applied to larger watercolor projects. This class will include a variety of watercolor exercises to help you fine-tune your watercolor skills and/or introduce you to the medium. We will work mostly from reference images and still life, covering a variety of topics.

Private Lessons
One-on-one Lessons and Group Lessons are offered by the BAC faculty for all ages with pricing ranging between $75–$150 per hour.

Financial Aid
The BAC believes the arts should be accessible to all! Tuition assistance (or financial aid) for full season classes, intensives, and workshops is available for all individuals and families throughout the year. Click here to be redirected to our financial aid form.
Please do not register for a class you wish to apply financial assistance for, the BAC will assist you with your registration process if your application has been accepted.
Tuition assistance requests will not be fulfilled until 1-2 weeks before the start date of the requested class. Tuition Assistance requests can be fullfilled up to 2 weeks after the start date of the session if space permits. Until then, we ask for your patience while we work to place students in their requested classes. Scholarships for Ceramics & Jewelry are granted per individual once per fiscal year (September – August). Financial Aid does not apply to private lessons.
