Maddie Marino is a longtime ceramics artist who has recently specialized in miniature pottery. Her background is in more traditionally-sized wheel-thrown vessels, but when she became disabled with long covid in 2022, she needed to find a method that would make ceramics accessible to her new body. That method was the mini wheel.

Maddie creates tiny (~1 inch tall) vases in vibrant colors. Each pot will hold something for you. Physically, that might be a dried flower, or your cat’s whiskers. Emotionally, it could be a secret, or a hope. Each amulet is infinite: when they are filled with what nourishes you, they will never run out. And when you use them to store what you can no longer hold, they will never be full.
