The human behind Belltooth, Coleen Palencia, received a BFA in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2012. Working in a dental lab after graduating college creating artificial teeth by hand rekindled a passion for sculpture. After continuing education classes in jewelry, metalsmithing, and ceramics a jewelry making practice was born. Nested in Joy Street Studios in Somerville, day to day work focuses on creating wearable art.

Belltooth creates jewelry and other curious creations with an emphasis on handmade porcelain elements. Inspired by nature, science, and the world around us. Texture, volume, weight, patterns, and sound often mimicking nature play a central role in the practice. Additionally, careful studies of anatomy and biology manifest as painted or carved cameos, ultimately becoming jewelry.

Belltooth can be found at the Brighton Emporium in Brighton, Literally Local in Brookline Village, and at craft fair around New England and the East Coast.
