Hydrangea Blossom Brooch Madeline FineCopper 3 " H x 2.25" W 2021
In 1971, Madeline's jewelry career began. She was walking from Coolidge Corner to Berkeley St. to attend UMass classes. On her walk down Newbury St., she passed the windows of Jon Lewis, Silversmith, and fell in love with some earrings she couldn't afford. The spark was struck. During her studies at MassArt, metal was her focus. Her love of nature is evident in her work. She embosses with petals and other materials, juxtaposes textures and colors in her wearable creations, eye-catching and slightly subdued. As wearable and durable art, Madeline's creations must be light enough to be worn comfortably. You may hear them asking, "See me? Do I remind you of something?" Madeline wants you to think when you look. Her work has been exhibited and sold in solo and group shows and galleries. She teaches at OreMetals Studio in Dedham, JCC Newton, and BAC.
