Young one’s work is an ongoing dialogue between their body and the world—an attempt to archive the sensory impact of physical displacement through layered visual stimuli. Their practice explores painting and installation, combining acrylic gouache, ink painting, printmaking, ceramics, and watercolor on wood panels, fabric, and metal.

In 2023, they presented a solo exhibition at Onsu-Gonggan in Seoul, where they divided their artistic persona into three figures based on different mediums. Through this project, they incorporated fiction and music, curating an immersive spatial experience as both artist and organizer. Their exhibition catalog translated the sensory experience of the show into a tactile metaphor and was later featured in WESS Exhibition & Publication in Seoul.

Young one participated in the 2023 Print Art Research Center’s intensive summer residency and exhibition program in Korea, sponsored by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture. Recent exhibitions in 2025 include Plastic Thoughts at 808 Gallery and Before We Were Famous at Commonwealth Gallery in Boston.

Young one graduated summa cum laude with a BFA from Seoul National University in 2022, received the Alumni Association President’s Award, and is currently an MFA Painting candidate at Boston University, where they hold a merit scholarship and actively engage in their practice.
