Description

The Brookline Arts Center is seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented, and hardworking individual who is willing to learn and grow to join our team. Under the supervision of the Executive Director and Assistant Director, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing operational support and customer service to students and parents while assisting with day-to-day office operations.

Part-Time: 20 hours/week
Starting Pay: $25/hr



Responsibilities

  • Manage office email and phone calls
  • Assist in managing daily operations of classes and communications with students and parents
  • Complete basic registrar tasks in Active Network (enrolling, unenrolling, transferring, etc)
  • Maintain monthly calendars
  • Answer the front door and assist with visitors’ questions
  • Take minutes during weekly staff meetings
  • Represent BAC at events in the community



Qualifications

  • Experience working in educational, arts-related, or media-related programs is highly desirable
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently on projects
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Computer proficiency, including with Microsoft Suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive, and, ideally, database entry

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable remaining stationary and working on a computer for prolonged periods
  • Possess the mobility necessary to work in an art studio or office setting and use office equipment
  • Able to understand printed materials and to see, listen, and talk for extended periods in person, over the telephone, and via computer
  • Able to lift up to 15 pounds, push and pull, keyboard and grip
  • Able to exchange accurate information with instructors and staff
